The Lamborghini’s entirely new 60-degree, 6.5L V-12 engine produced 690 HP at 8,250 RPM and a neck-snapping 509 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 RPM, and it was capable of rocketing the Lamborghini’s occupants to 217 MPH. Double-wishbone pushrod suspension with Ohlins shocks and giant 15.7-inch front and 15-inch rear carbon-ceramic brakes combine for impossible agility at speed. Its carbon fiber monocoque and aluminum substructures employed such techniques as Resin Transfer Molding, prepreg carbon fiber weaving and other composite materials to approach the torsional stiffness of a contemporary F1 car. The Aventador model was unveiled at the February 2011 Geneva Auto Show as the replacement for the Murciélago as the company’s new flagship model, and it boasted a number of breakthrough technologies that combined to make it the most impressive Lamborghini ever. This 2017 Aventador LP700-4 Roadster is one of just 278 Roadsters produced that year and shows a mere 164 miles on the odometer.
